Restaurant for Anniversary Dinner
My husband and I will be travelling to Paris soon to celebrate our first anniversary. We are looking for a nice restaurant that is not outrageously expensive. From the research that I have done I am interested in Le Pre Catalan, Le Violon D'Ingres, and Lasserre. Any other suggestions or advice on those restaurants?

We had dinner at Le Violon D'Ingres for an anniversary, a few years ago. It was worth it in all ways but I am not sure how expensive it is..but it is beautiful and the food was wonderful.

Congrats, Scarlett!
We found Le Violon d'Ingres just a bit on the cold side--not especially romantic. But Le Pre Catalan would be wonderful, as would Lasserre. |
Le Grand Vefour in the Palais Royal is a beautiful restaurant of long-standing high esteem. It counts among its diners such folks as Hugo, Sartre, Colette, and their ilk. It's probably not more expensive than Pre Catlan.

Perhaps the OP could definite "not outrageously expensive" before we go further?

Depending on wine choices of course, Le Grand Vefour and Lasserre (not sure about Le Pre Catalan, but menu can be seen at
www.lenotre.fr) would be 2-3 times as expensive as Le Violon. Le Violon is wonderful, contemporary decor but not cold imo. Le Grand Vefour and Lasserre are opulent in decor and more formal dress would be indicated. |
I was thinking between 200 and 250 Euro for dinner for 2.

that amount should be fine for dinner, or close,at Le Violon if you're careful about the wine.
You could consider a fabulous lunch at one of the other places, that would be less expensive of course than dinner. |
