Restaurant for 10th Anniversary?
 

Hi! My husband & I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in Paris (January 04). This will be my first & his 2nd trip to Paris (his 1st trip was 20 years ago as a teenager). Could someone please suggest a romantic restaurant for this occassion? Does anyone have any input on either of the restaurants in the Eiffel Tower?

I think Le Grand Vefour in the Palais Royale would be a wonderful place; it evokes the Belle Epoque and was frequently visited by Colette, Proust, and their ilk. Reserve well ahead.

The Jules Verne is a notch below the Grand Vefour in food and service (the GV is nigh perfect imo) but the Jules Verne does offer the spectacular view, an unforgettable experience. They book up months in advance, and dinner will cost at least a few hundred dollars (ditto at GV).

Though it has now been 9 years since my only dinner at JV, it remains very, very memorable for me (and my wife).

I also frequently recommend Chateau d'Esclimont, 45 minutes outside Paris at St. Symphorien, but I am less certain that it is a good idea when nothing is green (as in January).

Congrats on your anniversary. We married in January also (1976).
