Restaurant Cipriani

Can anyone say if this experience is worth the price.

All you need to fully experience the legendary Cipriani have their BELLINI drink (champagne cocktail).

Definitely SKIP their expensive menu.
Not worth it. You'll forget it before you even walk out of there.

Bellini at the Cipriani Bar.
That's all you need.

Robert, you got several responses on this the other day when you first posted this question. If you keep scrolling down you might find them.

As I responded then, if you mean the restaurant of the Cipriani Hotel
(as opposed to Harry's Bar which is a Cipriani restaurant quite near San Marco on the "mainland" of Venice)
then I recommend the hotel restaurant very highly. As you can imagine it is very pricey, but I think it's pretty near perfect. You take the hotel's private launch for the 3-4 minute ride to the hotel. The bar near the dining room is very pleasant and the Bellinis are delicious and breathtakingly expensive. The dining room is beautiful, quiet, with Murano glass sconces on the walls.
Service is formal but helpful, and the food is absolutely wonderful. It is generally considered to be one of the best restaurants in Venice. Given that the restaurant is in a hotel, of course most of the clientele are visitors.
In good weather allow some time to stroll the grounds of the hotel.

While I think that Cipriani of Venice is one of the greatest hotels I have ever stayed at, I can't say the same about the food in the restaurant. It wasn't that it wasn't good, but for the cost, it should have been extraordinary. And it wasn't. I ate at this little family restaurant on the island of Burano, which was dirt cheap, and the food was better for the price. Cipriani is NOT known for its food.

John
opinions about any restaurant differ, but I respectfully disagree--the Cipriani hotel restaurant IS generally much praised for its food, the restaurant is usually considered to be one of the top five to ten in Venice for food. For examples,
the books "Time for Food Venice",
"Frommers Italy",Fodor's "Venice and the Veneto" timeout.com, etc.
That doesn't mean you're not entitled
to dislike it.
