Reserving at Hotel Bonaparte

Being an unseasoned traveler, I have read many posts and decided to book a room at the Hotel Bonaparte. I saw specific mention from Ira about room 19. Does this room sleep two people? Also, they are responding to me in Spanish. Is that normal? I thought I read that there were English-speaking people at the hotel.

As always, your help is greatly appreciated!

Hi, if room 19 is what Ira reserved and was commenting on it, it must be a double. Spanish? How strange they would reply to you in Spanish if you send your request in English. It must be a mistake. I understand that there are some English-speaking staff.

Hi ae,

I believe that 19 (or equivalent) is twin beds. 18 (or equivalent) is a double bed.

>...they are responding to me in Spanish. Is that normal? <

No, it is not, since they are located in Paris, France.

Ok, good. I thought it was a bit strange and figured someone would have mentioned it on the many posts I have seen about Bonaparte. I replied and politely asked for a response in English. I even tried using the BabbleFish online translator, but it still wasn't making sense to me. Too funny. I'm sure it will get sorted out. Thanks so much!

Are you sure you contacted the Hotel Bonaparte in Paris? There is also one in Santiago, Chile which has the website www.hotelbonaparte.com.

Oh good Lord. Thank you so much, Travelnut! What if I had reserved a room in Chile. Thank goodness I didn't give them credit card information. That definitely explains the Spanish. Hahaha

Thank you to ckag as well. Apologies for leaving that out the first time.

Just talked to Hotel Bonaparte and they said their cheapest room was 124 Euro per night. I thought the double with the twin beds was 94 Euro?

Single rate is 94 euros. I checked the single rate a few months ago. I also went by and looked at the hotel on my last trip. I liked it a lot.

I decided on an apt. but will stay there at some point I am sure.

Hi Bigal,

Don't know the exact dimensions, but in rm 19 there were 2 beds, table, 2 chairs, armoire, 1 or 2 bed tables, minifridge and TV.

The bathroom is huge. I think the tub was about 7 ft long.

Bigal, we stayed in Rm. 18 in March '04 and it was similar to Ira's description of #19 only with a double bed.

I don't think the hotel has non-smoking rooms so if this is an issue for you, bring a candle to help freshen the air.

aewatbu, I'm glad that you got your reservation straightened out!
