Reserved Galleria dell' Accademia tickets
Has anyone reserved tickets for the Accademia Museum in Florence? If so, how far in advance did you make the plans and which website did you use?
Thanks for your insight. |
The info for reserving is listed in the "Helpful Information Italy" thread. You can do a text search for it. Hope this helps!

We used weekendinflorence.com to reserve our tickets for the Accademia and the Uffizi. It was easy to do and worked out fine. Of course, there was a fee which boosted the cost of the tickets, but the convenience was worth it to us. I think you can also call the museum directly to save the cost of the fee.
Statia is right, the thread she mentioned has lots of info which was very useful on our last trip. |
I recently made reservations. You can call the museum directly and save some money. The number is 055-238-8609 and you get an English speaking person. The cost is about 12.5 euros including the reservation fee; you pay when you pick-up the tickets. I called about 3 days before I got there and couldn't get the time I wanted, so I'd suggest you call as soon as you firm up your plans. I went first thing and it was packed with tour groups. Might be better to go in afternoon.

Hi
In addition, Uffizi and Academia Museum Reservations The easiest and cheapest way is to call Florence 011 (U.S. international access code) 39 (Italy's country code) then 055-294-883 8:30-18:30 M-F and 8:30-12:00 Sat. Florence time. You will get an English speaking operator and in 2-3 minutes YOU CAN RESERVE FOR BOTH. This is through the reservation service at the Uffizi and costs beyond the normal entry fee only about 1.60 euro for the service. This is MUCH cheaper than the commercial booking services. |
Everyone, thank you.
Ira and Jackie, thanks for your specifics. I was going to wait until we arrived in Italy, but, calling the musuem directly for the Accademia tomorrow AM sounds to be a better idea. We are taking a tour of the Uffizi with 'Vatican Tours and Beyond' so I'll reserve for the Accademia only. I'm traveling with my Mom and Grandmom. I want to be sure their 1st experience in Europe is as smooth as possible. Thank you, Danielle |
I have found that even simple hotels are willling to make these kinds of reservations on my behalf.

my hotel made the reservation, and I paid with credit card when I got to the museum at least in Florence that was the case 3 or so years ago Ditto Rome, more recently, for the Borghese and Domus Aurea |
we did all of out tickets through www.selectitaly.com (or it may have been italyselect.com). We did it about 2 months prior. We used them for tickets in Rome, Florence and Milan.
