Reservations for St. Mark's in Venice
 

Does anyone know how to get reservations for entrance to St. Mark's Basilica in Venice? I remember finding a site once but now can't seem to locate it. Thanks!

To my knowledge,no reservations possible. You might be thinking of the Doges Palace secret itineraries tour which can be booked in advance by your hotel (or you once you get there).

Yes, you can make reservations online. We did it last year--and it was well worth it. We bypassed a huge, long line because we had our reservation in hand. Here is the website: http://www.alata.it/booking/sanmarco.asp#

However, it is in Italian, and this morning, the website was having problems. I recall this happening to me last year. But, I just kept trying, seems it took a few days--but I was finally successful.

The line moves very fast. The line was very long when I visited, but it only took about 10 minutes for me to get inside.

I was unable to get a connection to the website all weekend, but this morning (about 10 am eastern time in the USA) the site came right up when I tried, and I now have a reserved entry time.
