Reservations for Grotte du Peche Merle

I am planning on visiting Peche Merle at the beginning of July. I am presuming that I need to book. So, does anyone have any personal experience of booking by phone? Do they speak English? If I have to use my mediocre French I would feel better if I knew what they require ie. name, address, credit card, etc.
Thanks

It is about 10 years since I went to Peche Merle and I don't recall having to book ahead then. But things may have changed since then.

I called there last summer and made reservations without any problem. I began with Bonjour, parlez-vous anglais? The rest was in English. They will give you the English tour reservation. I do not think I gave them any information other than our names.

Hi toni,

From http://www.quercy.net/pechmerle/engl...ons_acces.html

Réservations : To preserve the Cave and the prehistoric paintings, the visitors are limited to a maximum of 700 a day. So it is better, especially in july and August, to reserve by telephone (05 65 31 27 05 from France or +33 5 65 31 27 05 from abroad), at least 24 hours in advance (3 or 4 days in advance in july and august). Tickets must be bought 15 minutes before the time at whitch the tour is scheduled. Generally, on Saturday and Sunday it's not so busy.
