Reservations for Florence sights
We will be there the last week of July with limited time. I know I must make a reservation for the Accademia, but I see you can also reserve for the Bargello and Duomo museum. (We saw the Uffizi last time.) What do you think -- good idea or waste of money? Also, since I'm asking, is there a "best" website for making the reservations? Thanks!

Lynda,
Let me make some calls for you.
Be happy to do that.

Nancy

P.S. OK I have been to the Duomo

Lynda
No need to reserve for the Bargello and especially not for the Museum of the Duomo. These are not on every tourist's list I guess, because they are not very crowded.
If you get there and find otherwise, perhaps you could ask your hotel to reserve at the Bargello for the next day, or do it yourself.
I loved both of them, especially the Bargello.

The lines at the Accademy to see David are usually very long in the summer. We waited over an hour 3 years ago in July.. The next year I went with some girlfriends and I reserved tickets on-line. We walked to the front of a line that seemed to go on forever. We were in in less than 2 minutes. It was great. I'm going back this summer with another friend and we've already reserved again. To me it's worth the cost. I did it through initaly.com but I've heard on these boards that there are other ways to do it.

Elaine & Cherie, thanks for the advice. I was nervous that everything would be too crowded to see at that time of summer. Thanks to your previous advice, Elaine, we have Scala Reale tours already booked in Rome...
