Reservation needed in Germany?

We will be traveling through Germany and the Fussen area and do have reservations for almost every single night except for one night. Will that be a huge mistake not to have a reservation for one evening at a hotel? We are trying to give ourselves one night of flexibility to either go on to Meersburg in the black forest or remain in the Fussen area and see some other sites. This would be around May 25. Thank you!

25 may is a bank holiday weekend in the UK, not sure about other countries but it could be busier with more british tourists...

I understand that Meme5 will travel to Germany, not to UK. In Bayern, there is a holiday on 29 May, so the long weekend lasts from 28 May to 1 June.

You should go well without a reservation if you are a bit flexible.

I understand he will be in Germany but tonnes of Brits head to the continent for the long weekend - including Germany = Germany could be busier with British tourists. My friend heads there every long weekend for example.

Assuming that you are driving you should have no trouble finding a vacancy in a Gasthaus in late afternoon.

Compared with the Dutch, not that many UK tourists in Germany at any time of year - and certainly not in Bavaria outside Munich's Oktoberfest. As spaarne says, you shouldn't have any problems finding a Gasthaus in late afternoon.
