RER Trains from CDG
I am trying to find information on RER train schedules from CDG to St. Germain area of Paris. I am hearing that they stop running on holidays (specifically New Years Eve) at 9pm. Can someone clarify that information for me? Other posts say the trains run past midnight.
Thanks in advance. |
www.ratp.fr
"Horaires" "RER, B" "Tous les horaires de la ligne" "Valider" "choisissez votre direction" "Robinson, Anthony....." "jour d'application" "samedi, dimanche et feries" "rechercher" a PDF file will open with the entire timetable... |
They have special hours on NY eve, the schedules you will find on the web site won't be relevant (unless they specifially mention NY eve, which I don't think would be posted this far ahead).
Generally, I have never heard they close the RER at 9 pm on NY eve. They close some metros on NY eve, and they close specific RER/metro stations on NY eve, and it can be earlier than 9 pm. I think they completely close the station at the Etoile and near the Eiffel Tower, for example. However, I have never heard they close the RER line B on NY eve. In fact, I think it may run more or longer, not less. I believe it stops for a short time right at midnight, but not for long. |
I haven't been able to get that ratp page to work for a couple of days - in French or English.

I tried the directions from travelnut and got the timetable first time...
Thanks, travelnut! gb |
You're welcome.

Thanks for the advice. I will try the directions from travelnut.

Everytime I get to Valider, a message on the bottom of the page says error. I have tried to make it work in English and the same thing happens.
|
Finally got a timetable by using the interactive map and clicking on the B line.

The ratp site is so frustrating. I haven't been able to get it to work for me since. I am trying to find out when the express trains are from CDG to Gare du Nord on Fridays - say after 10 a.m. If you can get the schedule to come up, could you post it or tell me what times the express trains run? Thanks

KROL seems to be the moniker for all the early trains
Aeroport CDG 2-TGV - 9:25 Aeroport CDG 1 - 9:28 Gare du Nord - 9:56 Aeroport CDG 2-TGV - 9:40 Aeroport CDG 1 - 9:43 Gare du Nord - 10:11 Aeroport CDG 2-TGV - 9:55 Aeroport CDG 1 - 9:58 Gare du Nord - 10:26 Aeroport CDG 2-TGV - 10:10 Aeroport CDG 1 - 10:13 Gare du Nord - 10:41 Aeroport CDG 2-TGV - 10:25 Aeroport CDG 1 - 10:28 Gare du Nord - 10:56 |
For all RER and suburban train schedules, log on to www.transilien.fr, which is the official site for greater Paris transport.

Thanks Travelnut.
Art, that is a good site but it doesn't give you a timetable - just one train at a time and it doesn't say which are express trains. Thanks though. |
I have finally got the schedule to work and printed. Can you tell me what the "mission" is at the top of the page. Each hour has a different set of letters KROB, SCAL. Will these letter be on the front of the train?
|
Yes, the four-letter train names are displayed on the front of the engine as well as on all the schedule boards in the stations.
The first letter indicates which branch, or spur, the trip will take - for example, "K" trains terminate at Massy-Palaiseau, "S" trains at Robinson, and "P" trains at St-Rémy-Lès-Chevreuse. You don't have to worry about that - all trains from CDG stop at all the stations within the central zone, from Gare du Nord to Cité Universitaire. |
