RER prices in Paris
 

I have searched, but cannot find a website that shows the cost of RER tickets to specific destinations. I am trying to figure out if it is a better deal to purchase a Zone 1-2 Carte Orange for 16.30 E, plus a one-way ticket from CDG to Paris and a roundtrip ticket from Paris to Versailles, or to purchase a Zone 1-5 Carte Orange for 32.10 E. TIA!

you can get ticket prices by using the 'routing' feature, or click on the "tickets" link for the passes, etc.

CDG-Paris via RER is about 8.5 E.
Versailles round-trip from Paris is about 6 E. You've got the CO prices.

everywhere I have found, the price for the ticket++ is $1.5 is this only valid in zones 1&2? where there's also metro? what are the tickets prices for lets say zones 3 or 4 on the RER?? I'm assuming a $1.5 ticket++ won't be enough to the airport or what not, since i've heard that's about $8.50 or so. so how do the tickets work?

Ticket prices for any suburban destination in the Paris metropolitan area at www.transilien.com -- not sure if there is an English version of the site.

You can only use those t+ tickets on the RER in the zones where there is metro, which is central Paris (basically zones 1-2 for the RER, although a metro stop may be outside that limit). It won't cost much to go between zone 3 and 4, for example, but you buy a ticket at that station to do that.

Prices aren't in USD so can't be $1.50. It is 1.50 euro, I believe.

A ticket to go across 4 zones is about 3 euro (say zone 1 to 4); it's 2.1 euro to go from zone 1 to 3. One zone won't be much, as you can see.

Yes, there is an English version of the Transilien site. To calculate a fare between two stations, go to the <A HREF="http://www.transilien.com/web/site/a...;>Passenger Guide<A/> and click on "PRIX PAR TRAJET."

t+ tickets (1.50€) are good anywhere the Metro goes (some lines end in zone 3), but only in zone 1 on the RER. For example, the Antony RER station is in zone 2. Using the fare calculator from a station in zone 1 to Antony results in a fare of 2.10€, not 1.50€.

That didn't work either. Go to www.transilien.com. Choose English. Click on "Passenger Guide." Click on "Tickets and Fares." Click on "PRIX PAR TRAJET."
