RER or shuttle or AF bus
I've been reading some of the posts and although there are many similar to my question couldn't quite find the exact answer I'm looking for (type A, of course) I will be taking the TGV into Gare de Lyon from Annecy on the 28 of September. It should arrive at 11:47, I need to get to CDG 2 the quickest way. My plane departs at 15:55, I should have one pullable suitcase (22")So my question is RER to CDG, bee-shuttle?, or AF bus? Thanks for any info you can provide

One of the AF bus lines makes a stop at Gare De Lyon, therefore that would be the easiest and only a couple euro more than the RER.

Some of the TGV go right to CDG. Can you reschedule to one of those? I've been stuck in traffic on the AF bus, and it also takes a long while to go around all the terminals (I think 2B is the final one).

I always use the Metro and RER between center city and CDG. In your case from Gare Lyon I would take Metro line 1 to Chatelet Les Halles and then RER line B right into CDG terminal 2. One of the things I like about the RER is that it is more predictable than buses subject to traffic problems. With the limited amount of luggage you have it would be no problem. Given the choice I always go by rail but I am sure most will tell you to take the shuttle. Maybe 40 years in the rail industry sways my judgement.
Enjoy Annecy....it's a favorite of mine. Larry J |
Thanks for your reaponses. The reason I chose the TGV only to Gare de Lyon was because it was only 25 Euro (can't beat that! :) I think I am going to try thr RER. I would hate to get stuck in traffic, or an accident tie up. Again, thanks for your suggestions. My daughter lives in Annecy and I plan to enjoy every minute of it! Happy Travels

I would take the line 14 from Gare de Lyon to Chatelet. It is only 1 stop to chatelet as opposed to 4 on the line 1. Also the connection is easy from the line 14 to the RER in Chatelet.
