RER-Charles de Gaulle to 7th arrondissment
We are arriving in Paris in June and have rented an apartment in the 7eme arrondissment (Rue de la Grenelle). I asked the owner how to get from Charles de Gaulle to Ecole Militaire (the metro station close to the apartment) using the RER and she suggested :
the RER to Châtelet les Halles (direction south), there you switch to metro line 1 direction la Défense and you exit at Concorde, there you switch to line 8 direction Balard and you exit at Ecole Militaire. My question is this: how much would this trip cost aproximately, and is it worth taking a taxi instead, seeing how we are travelling with a toddler and a stroller :) I have been to Paris before with my husband years ago and we took the RER from CDG no problems but I don't know how stroller-friendly the metro stations are! Thank you in advance for any suggestions! |
We have done it many times and it is about 50E. The Ecole Militaire stop will be a bit of a hike. Please take a taxi.

If you cannot afford the taxi all the way, got off the RER at St. Michael stop and take a cab. ( Chatelet is a nightmare), or take Air France bus to Gare Montparnas
and taxi from there. Metro is not stroller or luggage friendly. |
sorry :get off
taxi can be 40-60 E. depending on the traffic. |
To clarify above - a taxi from CDG to hotel will be anywhere from 40-55E... a taxi from RER-St Michel or from Gare Montparnasse will be around 10-15E. The RER ticket is 8E per person. An Air France coach ticket to either Etoile or Montparnasse is 12-13E per person.
