RER ---CDG to Orly
Just want to make sure I have this straight. I get on the RER B at CDG going into Paris. Then at Antony/Orlyval I switch to the RER C line going to Orly. Is this correct? Thanks very much--don't want to get screwed up. Also, how is the RER priced? Is is just a flat fee or do I have to pay more for travel in differing zones? Am I correct in assuming that this is the preferred method of travel going between the 2 airports for people with just 1 suitcase?

No, not at all. There's a shuttle service by Air France bus running between the two airports. The bus leaves every 20 minutes and the trip takes 50 minutes. I think it costs about 70FF unless you're taking Air France in which case it's free.

Matt, go to this web site for complete data on the Paris airports. This is the official site of the Paris airports and will tell you everything you need

http://www.adp.fr/webadp/a_cont01_an...Fhome?ReadForm

Two small precisions:

1) At Antony, you don't take RER C but Orlyval, a driverless metro (if you wanted to change for RER C you would have to do it at St Michel Notre Dame, and the whole trip would be much longer)

2) Yes, there are direct AF buses between CDG and Orly, but you'd better not be in a hurry or prone to cardiac pressure ! The whole trip can take between 1 and 2, 3 ? hours, and the frequency is not very high. The RER B + Orlyval solution seems to be the safest one, even if it's not cheap if there are more than one person.

Thanks for the assistance. I was inclined to take the RER just because I have heard that Paris traffica can be horrendous. Question for Vincent--What do you mean if there is more than one person, this is an expensive option? There are two of us. What ccould be more cost efficient? It certainly couldn't be a taxi?

I think the RER+Orlyval is actually more expensive than the AF bus, and it would get expensive if you had 3+ people (with 3, a taxi is probably the same cost as the RER). AF bus is about 11-12 euros and the RER+Orlyval about 16 euros; a cab should be about 50 euros.
