RER and Metro question....

We have a Eurail pass and realize that it will cover the RER ride into paris from the airport.
Will it also cover use of the metro while in Paris?

Thank you...

(THE EURAIL TRAVELER'S GUIDE 2007 says "Line E, valid on the complete line www.paris.or/Metro...we went to the web site but could not figure it out)

The Eurailpass is valid only for that portion of the RER run by the French national railroad, SNCF. So you can get from the airport to Gare du Nord, but not further on Ligne B. Using it consumes a pass day.

It is not valid on the Métro.

<b>Free travel on a selection of lines on the RER underground system. To obtain a ticket, you need to go to a RER-ticket window with your Eurail Pass. Tickets are valid on the following RER lines:

* Line B, valid between Charles-de-Gaulle airport and Paris Gare-du-Nord railway station.
* Line C, valid between Orly airport and downtown Paris/Versailles
* Line D, valid between Paris Nord and Auvers sur Oise
* Line E, valid on the complete line
