RER & Metro - Paris

Can you use the tickets from a carnet for the RER trains and the metro, or just the metro?

Thanks!

A carnet is good anywhere the metro goes (including the few lines that end in zone 3) and on the RER in zone 1.

Also, a single ticket is good for unlimited transfers on the metro and/or RER so long as you don't exit the system.

You can also use the ticket on the Bus system. You can now even transfer to different buses, provided that you obey the transfer "rules". We prefer taking the bus over the metro - it's above ground & you can sightsee as you go.

The new transfer rules to which Stu refers say that you can change buses one or more times for up to 90 minutes after you first validate your ticket.
