Any information about the RER from CDG into Paris would be helpful.<BR>Where do I catch the RER at CDG?<BR>Fare?<BR>Best method of getting into Paris?<BR>Will the RER be running on New Years Day?<BR>thanks

www.ratp.fr<BR><BR>Yes, the RER will be working on NYear's Day. You may want to check out the Roissybus from CDG-Roissy if your hotel is close to the points at which it stops and it's cheaper than the Air France bus. You can walk to the RER station from Aerogare 2 (the Air France terminals). Or take the shuttle bus from Aerogare 1 that leaves every few minutes and is free.

just to expand on the above info, here is some info from my Paris file; check it against the website given to make sure it is still current info.<BR><BR>You can use the RER B, which is an express train service. It serves the terminals 1 and 2 (including the TGV train station at the airport) by shuttles from the RER station. In Paris it stops at the Gare du Nord and and Denfert-Rochereau RER/m&eacute;tro stations. Length of trip: 35-45-min. This mode of transportation is easy only if you don’t have a lot of luggage. From CDG terminal 1, take the green shuttle to the shopping level. <BR><BR>You buy a combined ticket for the metro-RER-Aeroports de Paris shuttle. If you plan to use the RER to return to the airport, buy a round-trip ticket.

Just one point - if you do take the RER avoid stowing bags in overhead compartments, especially if the train is busy. Although it may be difficult, try and keep your luggage near you as I know of several people who were relieved of theirs as they travelled on the RER line B.
