So glad you decided on Alsace. It's a lovely area for children and has lots of good, inexpensive lodging. You should enjoy it immensely.

If you are in France for 20 days, spending a day in Disneyland Paris will still leave you plenty of time to experience French culture. I have been to Disney Paris several times, and it is much smaller than Disneyworld Orlando; easy to do the Magic Kingdom in one day, from wherever you are staying in Paris. Give the Studio a miss; my children far preferred the other park.
My favorite place in the French Alps is Megeve; very pretty little town, easy to reach (ie not a very long drive through the mountains, but only 20 mins off the motorway.)
