Reputable Tour Company in Palermo
Hi All,
We are travelling from Boston to Palermo late Apr 2026 for 10 days. Airfare already booked and now looking for a reputable tour company who would pick up and drop off in Palermo for a 3-4 day tour travelling in/outside of Palermo. Interests: History, food, architecture. Thanks for any advice. |

The city is one of the world’s great capitals of street food, and exploring it with a guide really helps you understand what makes Sicilian food so unique. You’ll get to try classics like panelle, arancine, sfincione, and maybe even a few local specialties you wouldn’t have discovered on your own. If you want an easy option to consider, you could look at something like the Palermo Sicilian Street Food Tour or any similar tour that covers the historic markets and the traditional street snacks. It’s a great way to dive into the city’s food culture and learn a bit of history along the way. |
Agree with PJ94 about food tours in Palermo. It is such a large part of the culture there. We booked a private tour with Streaty. Highly recommend them!

Tour Operator leaving/returning to Palermo
Thanks for all your replies. No doubt we will do a tour of the street foods in Palermo. Since we are going to be there for 8 days minus 2 days travel from US, we are interested in spending time elsewhere. Maybe a bus tour taking us out of Palermo but returning to Palermo after several days. I also want to visit Terrasini and Sciacca where my grandparents came from. See many day trips but not many multi day trips with pickup and drop off in Palermo. We don’t want a private tour as they are too pricey.

4-5 Day Multi City Tour
Thanks all for your suggestions. We will no doubt do a street food tour.
We are looking for a short 4 or 5 day multi city tour maybe by bus with pick up/drop off at hotel in Palermo. I see many day tours but not much for multi day with puck up drop off at same location. Would like to visit Sciacca, Agrigento and Terrasini where my grandparents came from. I actually have the address where my grandmother was born and would love to see what’s there. |
Do not know anything about tours from
Palermo but you can check Victor to get an idea of some possibilities. Would not be hard to just rent a car and do it yourselves as long as you don’t drive in and out of Palermo. |
Yes, I have heard about the driving in Palermo and we really don't want to rent a car. We were in Rome 5 years ago and driving there is crazy as well. I am checking Viator. Thanks for the suggestion.

Recent NYTIMES article about how food tours may not be so great for the city of Palermo and it's retailers:
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/18/w...smid=url-share For tours in and out of Palermo, the first place I would check with would be my hotel. Isn't Viator a broker? Why would you book with a broker rather than a local agency..there are so many that offer tours. I just do not have any names, as we either rent a car or hire private drivers to get from place to place, and then tour on our own. |
I’d recommend checking out a tour operator like Sicilying — they run small-group tours around Palermo and outer Sicily, focusing on history, food, and architecture. They offer pickup and drop-off in Palermo, and their 3-4 day tours cover highlights like ancient ruins, food tastings, and architectural gems.
If Sicilying isn’t available for your dates, another good option is Sicily Travel Services — local reviews praise their flexibility and knowledge of off-the-beaten-path historic sites. Both are well regarded and a good fit given your interests. |
In that case I would suggest Agrigento Valley of the Temples and Villa Romana del Casale Tour from Palermo.
