I've never flown Easyjet (might consider it) or Ryanair (why consider an airline whose Customer Service Policy appears to be focused on P*$$ing the passenger off, just for fun). They can have some absolutely stunning offers on price, but you need to consider factors such as extra cost for baggage, transportation to/from some remote airports, times and frequency of flights etc (losing time from your vacation). Just factor those costs and travel time into the equation when making the decision.

Don't rule out the traditional airlines: If you book well in advance, you can actually get some good deals on the regular airlines. For example, fares on BA from Gatwick can often be comparable (higher, but not so much so) to certain destinations to Easyjet.

I have done the cost/time/convenience equation many times, and have often found that you can get an almost equal deal when you take all considerations into account.

We have flown Ryan, Vueling, and Pegasus in Turkey. They make up their own rules and they enforce their own rules. And as long as you know that you will be fine.

It is like getting mad at a McDonald's because you expected something more than a highly processed hamburger cooked by a 16 year old.

Another thing that easyjet should get a thumbs up for is when a flight is cancelled.

It's happened to me twice in the past few years - both times I have received a text, followed later by an email.

It is easy to rebook your flight online for the following day (but don't hang around, do it asap to get best availability).

Then as you are unable to contact easyjet directly, you do have to sort out your own accommodation and meals, keeping all the receipts.

On return, you email easyjet customer services with photos/scans of the receipts, and they pay up very quickly.

Yes indeed. With certain destinations BA can have better prices than easyjet once you factor in the baggage charge.

Budget airlines have low running costs, that does not mean their tickets WILL be cheap
