We'd.
We decided to walk through the crowds at Montmarte and go to Sacre Coeur. It was a beautiful sunny day, bright blue skies. This is such a beautiful church. We spent some time here ,then wandered down through some streets we had not seen before.lots of steps and beautiful photo ops. Bill wanted to go to BHV ,he loves the basement level ,lots of tools, electrical stuff, you name it... We went over to the exhibition at the Hotel de Ville. They had an exhibit on haute couture gowns.OMG,they were beautiful.I can just see myself wearing one on the red carpet. This evening we had a cooking class at the Cordon Bleu. We have done classes here before, always fun. The chef instructor was an expert sauce maker, working around the world before taking his job at the school. He prepared a chicken dish and a cod dish. He gave lots of tips as he spoke for over 2 hours.(through the interpreter ) We did get samples ,recipes, and a glass of wine. The presentation was beautiful, they really take great pride in their food. Thursday-lunch at Spring. Cold chilly day,we had reservations with our friends at 1. Service at Spring is impeccable. Food-always a surprise. StArted with some lightly fried oysters and pieces of jamb on,with a creamy dipping sauce of fresh herbs. Great crusty bread and wine of course . Next was green asapargus sitting atop a small amount(just enough) lobster bisque. It was topped with some ightly cooked shallots, sooo good. Main was duck breast with some cauliflower purée,then the crispy duck leg. Dessert was 3 fold,a bowl of sweet sliced strawberries with a splash of thyme flavored ice, first, them some lemon cream, followed by half of a warm chocolate tart with some praline cream. We all just love Spring, the surprise of the unknown, the great flavors,a wonderful experience every time. Daniel Rose never fails us. |
sounds like a great meal at Spring, lainie.
is this it: the lunch looks like a real bargain! did you ever get to Georges V? were you going to eat there? [i wasn't sure from what you'd posted above]. |
We went to Georges V,not to eat, just to view the beautiful flowers in the lobby

Fun report =D>
Lots of cooking classes--your friends at home must love it when you return and invite them over. |

lainie - you missed a treat. not cheap of course [the prix-fixe lunch is about €90 pp] but if you enjoy different eating experiences, as your thread shows that you do, it might be an idea for another visit.
we were there in March about 2 years ago and the entrance was entrancing. [oops!] |
We will put in on the list for next time, thx

Love your report and can't wait for the pictures.

What's the easiest way to post pictures? Help..
|
Some people start a new Facebook account (separate from any personal account they may want to keep private) and post them there. Or Shutterfly works for some. Or Flickr.com. There are others that are popular but the names escape me at the moment.

that should work

Your photos went quite well with my morning coffee--too bad I didn't have a tasty pastry to go with it!
Loved the food shots but my favorite were you close up flower shots. We haven't been to Normandy yet, so I enjoyed seeing it through your eyes. |
Great report, planning by Birthday getaway 71st. Can't decide between England or Paris. Your report has made it tougher. Almost had my mind made up for England.
|
I'm with TPAYT. Needed a pastry while I was enjoying your photos. Food and flowers are always my favorites.
