Ingo, thanks so much for your report - we have booked the Engadinerhof for a couple of days in June. We couldn't find any reviews but it just sounded right for us and now you have confirmed it!
Your descriptions of the food made our mouths water - we can't wait. I think we shall have to go for the 1/2 board option.

Judi - great memories, huh? Of course, the Engadinerhof is probably not half as good as the Posthotel in Zuoz! And I personally like the town Zuoz more than Pontresina.

schuler - they still keep the team from the years before. I got the feeling they're like a big family. The average age of the (Italian) waiters in the dining room was about 50 and up (the Maitre was Signore Salami - what a joke! but a tough guy.) and the girls at the bar were in the late 20s/early 30s. They even had one woman from my German state Saxony working at the reception desk/office.

Maudie - you can still decide later. It's a 23 Sfr. surcharge for Half board. Believe me, you cannot have a four-course dinner anywhere in Pontresina for that money! Another option is their pizzeria. Absolutely great stuff! We got to eat a piece of their ham/champignon pizza during the tour through the hotel on Thursday evening. Delicious!
