renting a villa in Spain

Has anyone got advice about how to rent a self catering villa or small apartment in a Spanish town or village? We are thinking of the Andalucia area, but other suggestions welcomed. Alternatively, does anyone know a good guide to bed and breakfast places in Spain? The main idea is to practice our basic Spanish by meeting local people in everyday situations. We are planning on going next September.

We are going to Spain in October and after a lot of internet reading decided on Nerja. We have rented a villa through Inter-Sol. They have been very helpful in finding just what we were looking for. They gave me good references and I'm sure we will be satisfied.

Thanks for the information, but how do I contact the company? Do you mind telling me how much it cost?

I don't know about Inter-Sol, but I found a neat website recommended by the L.A. Times-it is www.1travel.com. Find the link and you can learn about renting villas, etc in other countries. Hope this helps you.

We've been planning a visit to Spain April-May this year, and found an excellent source for villa rental info. It is call Private Villas Magazine, and is a British publication. Not hard to find it in Canada, but you may have to try a specialty book store in the US. It's published quarterly, and lists villas in Spain, Greece, Italy, France and even Florida! The prices are in pounds Sterling, and the downside is that mostly you have to phone or fax a British number. Can get expensive, but with dozens and dozens of places to check out it may be worth it to find the perfect place.
