renting a house in/near Vienna

Seeking to rent a house in or around Vienna for a family vacation. Web sites all seem to have smaller places, mostly apartments. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

We lived in Vienna in the early 80's and there are very very few single family dwellings in or around the city. I assume this is because land is very expensive and apartments make the most of what land is available.

Maybe someone else can offer you more hope, but I think an apartment is going to be your only choice.

If you were looking for a long term rental( 3-5 years +) you would have a small selection of deluxe properties to choose.
But,I would not know of any homes available as a vacation rental in Vienna.
Perhaps you might find something in an Austrian resort area only.
As prior poster mentioned, Vienna ia a city of mostly apartments opposed to single homes.
The apartments apparently do not fit your needs.
Several suite type hotels exist in the city.Have you looked at these.
Perhaps one or more of these might work for you. They have regular kitchens and are for those staying in the city for longer periods.
They are centrally located and offer good value.

Try Familie Walkner's apartments. I believe that Beatrix has at least 5 apts in the same building that are quite reasonable. Here is the site: www.appartements-augarten.info
