Renting a car in UK-- any tips?

Hi, we are from India, and we are travelling in England in Septmebr for 8 days (London, Cambridge, Yorkshire), and Scotland 7 days.

As it will be three of us, will a small car suffice? Or a biger car safer?
Is traffic on highways safe?

What's the procedure for renting a car? Any deposit to be made?

Thanks in advance!

We've also used Sixt and been happy.

A small car should be fine unless you are bringing a ridiculous amount of luggage. Small cars are safe. Our roads are very safe to drive on (of course there are accidents sometimes) but generally speaking most people are careful and courteous drivers.

jayadev:

Here is another broker that we have used www.novacarhire.com numerous times and have always been satisfied. You will be placed with one of the major car hire firms.
