Rentals in London

I am looking for info on renting a house or apartment in London for 6 nights in March,2007 that can accomodate 7 or 8 people. Any ideas?

You might ask your question at http://slowtalk.com/groupee/. That's the forum for the SlowTravel site, the best source for information about self-catering accommodations in Europe. On the main site are reviews of rentals as well as rental agencies.

There are many, MANY threads on here about flats in London. A search will bring up lots of information.

Just one source is VRBO. If you go to the vrbo.com website you can sort by size of property so all the 5, 4 and 3 bdrm places willl be at the top of the list.

This is the one I've been using several times. Good search facility there also.
If you're in the States, the rates are in USD.

So, Carrybean, do you recommend London Guest Suites? How many tmes have you used them?

I personally prefer to go through an agency and pay a little bit extra. It's a bit of insurance, plus you can charge the deposit, etc, to a credit card, which is further insurance. The one time I inquired about a flat via VRBO, the owner required a international bank transfer deposit to her account. To do so would have cost me quite a lot and I was hesitant to cough up based on a few pictures on a web site.

I think I've used them 5 times at least. Here's an example of their service: The flat I have rented a few times was sold after I booked it for this June. It was a studio & they gave me a 2 bedroom in the same building for the same price & since my adult niece is coming with me this time it worked out perfectly.

The first time I booked with them, the flat I rented had some issues so they gave me a 5% discount on my next stay plus a free airport pick-up. They really work to make you happy which is why I'm always blathering on about them.

I haven't noticed a price increase in the flats I check regularly even with the dollar going downhill so badly in the last couple of years.

I wouldn't suggest booking their car service, which they do offer because www.justairports.com is less expensive.

Oh, and you can pay with a credit card.
