Rental Houses in Ireland?

Hi, my family is looking to rent a house for 1-2 weeks on the south or west coast of Ireland (4-6 people) in late May or early June 2001. We are just in the VERY initial phase of planning our trip. First, does anyone have a suggestion of a nice town to make as our base? Also, I'd like to hear any experiences folks have had renting a house, who might be a good agency to use, etc.

Thanks so much for your help!

There are all types of houses, from simple cottages which are built as holiday homes to stone manor houses which are rented in the owner's absence. Killarney or Kinsale would be my selections for towns.

Meghan,

Have booked several houses through http://www.ichh.ie/index.html

Very satified with the houses and the company. E-mail them and they will send you a book with the locations of all of their houses. Let me know if you need any more info. Enjoy!

Check out vacationspot.com on the internet. This is one of the most functional sites I've seen and has apartments all over the world.

Check out www.buy&sell.net This is the web site for an Irish "Ads" newspaper, and there are 100s of ads for Holiday Houses all over Ireland. Your right to start early, the really nice places book up fast for summer rentals.
