Rental car pickup from Termini station or Villa Borghese Area?
Because we are leaving Rome on a Sunday heading north to Tuscany, our rental car pickup options are very limited. We would rather not have to make the trip to the airport and are trying to decide which option for car pick-up would be the best. To those of you who have braved the traffic in Rome, which is the easiest to navigate to get to the "ring road" and on to the Autostrada for our journey to Panzano? We will be staying in an apartment in the Jewish Ghetto so will have to taxi to either place for the pickup.
I have been told that traffic is lighter on a Sunday, so that may make our navigation easier.
Thanks.........Leslie

We drove into the Borghese location on a late Saturday morning and did not have a problem. I would think a Sunday am drive outbound would be easy with appropriate directions and planning. I'm certain the car rental location will have help and maps. There will be indications in the signage and no ZTL issues--have fun. Its really not that bad!

"Why not take the train to Orvieto (cheap and easy), and rent a car in Orvieto"
Are there any rental car offices open on Sunday in Orvieto?
Anyway, it would be a real hassle to schlep you luggage to
Termini, on and off the train, and then to a rental car
office, if open. Not to mention the cost of transportation to Termini and train fare
Pick up the rental at the Borghese garage. Driving out of Rome isn't really that bad. Should be easier on a Sunday,
the earlier the better.

TCC- you are correct in assuming that there are no rental offices that I can find in either Orvieto or Chuisi. That leaves pickup in Rome.
Thank you to all that responded. I think that the Villa Borghese is the choice for most of the people that have responded on the various forums.
Thanks.....Leslie
