rental car for 3 with 2 sets of golf clubs

Can some of you suggest what size car will be good for 3 adults and 2 sets of golf clubs (+luggage). I keep reading we should get the smallest because of roads and driving conditions, but what would be best to accomodate us all? Thanks

If you go to AutoEurope.com you can rent a mid-sized car. We usually get an Alfa Romeo. We've driven all over on tight roads and never had a problem. The thought of a tiny car because of the tight roads is really nonsense. We drive on paved donkey paths on Ischia and pass big huge tour buses.

I'm going to have a friendly disagreement with Ann and say that an Alfa Romeo would be big enough for 3 adults only sans the golf clubs. With clubs, go for a full-size vehicle. Bon Voyage.

Sue, The trunk was quite large. We could easily fit 5 adults in the car. You are right, a full sized car would be fine, too. My point was that huge buses go on these tiny roads and gharborwa shouldn't think they have to get a compact car because of the roads.
