1. Can I rent a car at the Zurich airport?
2. Do I need to do anything special to drive it into France and Germany before returning it to the pick up location?
3. I plan to drive into the Alsace region and then into the black forest region. I have 4 nights. Any suggestions for an agenda and lodging places for such a trip.

Of course - you can rent a car at any airport. If you're taking it out of the country you need to make sure the rental company knows and gives you an insurance card that covers all of them (without it they might stop you at the Swiss border).

You're covering a ot of territory for 4 nights (really 3 days - since one you land and one you leave).

Without knowing your interests/why you picked this area it's hard to make recos - are you into history, architecture, fine dining, hiking, spas - what?

Thanks. Actually we would leave Zurich on a Saturday a.m. and return on Wednesday p.m.
Interest is seeing the countryside, history...nice places to eat and sleep. If we don't have enough time for both areas we will cut the drive shorter than envisioned.
