Rent a car in Austria

We (4 adults + 2 kids) would like to rent a car during our visit to Austria. But major companies like Hertz, Europe, Budget, Swift etc don't have a 7 seater with automatic transmission. Will you be able to guide me, is there any local companies in the market who has such vehicle and are reliable?

Thanks in advance...

Have you tried www.autoeurope.com? It appears that they have a van for rent through Europcar.

Thanks Michael... I had checked it, but that's a manual one, I was looking for an automatic transmission.

None of the adults knows how to drive a shift?

Consider renting a manual transmission at home and teach yourself how to drive it before the trip? Just don"t burn out the clutch before returning it! ;-)

hire a driver?

use trains and rent bikes?

does it have to be a van? Mercedes make saloons with a 3rd row of seats I think, which i would imagine come in automatic transmission versions.

however, I went to the hertz site and selected pick up at Vienna airport, and came up with this:

https://www.hertz.co.uk/rentacar/res...s#sort/size/up

which shows this towards the bottom:

(W6) Mercedes Vito 4x4 WVAR - 9 seater automatic van.

just what you want, I think.
