Rent a car in Austria
We (4 adults + 2 kids) would like to rent a car during our visit to Austria. But major companies like Hertz, Europe, Budget, Swift etc don't have a 7 seater with automatic transmission. Will you be able to guide me, is there any local companies in the market who has such vehicle and are reliable?
Thanks in advance... |
Have you tried www.autoeurope.com? It appears that they have a van for rent through Europcar.
|
Thanks Michael... I had checked it, but that's a manual one, I was looking for an automatic transmission.

None of the adults knows how to drive a shift?
|
Unfortunately no... :(

Consider renting a manual transmission at home and teach yourself how to drive it before the trip? Just don"t burn out the clutch before returning it! ;-)

Ha ha :)

Hi all... Any other way out?
|
hire a driver?
use trains and rent bikes? does it have to be a van? Mercedes make saloons with a 3rd row of seats I think, which i would imagine come in automatic transmission versions. however, I went to the hertz site and selected pick up at Vienna airport, and came up with this: https://www.hertz.co.uk/rentacar/res...s#sort/size/up which shows this towards the bottom: (W6) Mercedes Vito 4x4 WVAR - 9 seater automatic van. just what you want, I think. |
