Renfe overnight train in Gran Clase cabin - experiences?

I have had decent food experiences on all the Trenhotel trains I have used. Part of the enjoyment was just BEING IN a restaurant car but your own experience may vary.
As to my comment about flying being simpler...it is one hell of a lot FASTER and since we are talking OVERNIGHT trains here please don't tell us about all these city center to city center advantages (and yes they are advantages) but we are talking about spending eight hours on a train here vs. a couple on a plane.

We are talking about eight hours on a train which would otherwise be spent in bed. And faster (and a two hour flight consumes considerably more time than the two hours on the plane) is not necessarily the same as simpler.

I'm not sure there are restaurants anymore on these Spanish trains in Spain. There WAS a restaurant on an international overnight train I took but all info now for Spain speaks about "cafeteria" and I saw no seats in any of the cafeterias I visited on recent trains, but none were overnight ones. Perhaps someone can comment first hand.
