Renfe Barcelona to Madrid question

Can someone please explain the difference between tourist class and first class on this route? Thanks.

First class allows you to use the private lounge prior to departure and the seating is a little more comfortable.

I'm not sure about the meal in tourist class, but the service and meal in 1st class isn't too bad.

There's no meal in tourist class served at your seat as in first, you have to buy whatever at the train bar or bring it with you.

unless things have changed, in first class you get unlimited drinks.. wine, beer, champagne(cava), so if you like to drink .. this is quite a good deal. you are also served whatever meal(s)/snacks correspond to the time you are travelling.

the departure VIP lounge for first class passengers is also welcoming. there are snacks and drinks available there, too, with television screens, and i ASSUME WIFI.. but not sure.
