Renfe
 

I am trying to book train tickets through Renfe from Barcelona to Madrid. There are 2 questions I don't know how to answer. One is Type of Document (Tax ID no, Passenger etc) and the other is Document No. They are required fields before I can put my credit card in. Does anyone know what they mean?

I am not sure which one I enter, I think Passenger ( it does not matter) , as a number : the passport number

Thanks for the info. I have tried both last night and today to do this. I get to the purchase piece (with all info now filled out correctly) and the it just says unable to process request at this time. Not sure what to do.

-you cannot use American Express
-you cannot purchase more than 62 days ahead
-your CC company may be blocking the purchase (happened to others).
Some people have tried to call Renfe ; I emailed them because i had trouble printing tickets and got some info. back right away.

Thank you- using American Express was the problem. This ticket needed to be purchased 14 days ahead. Anyway, finally success!
