renewal of wedding vows

I am travelling to Umbria nexdt year with my husband, daughters, parents & nephew. Just before we leave the UK my husband and I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage. We did wonder about renewing our wedding vows in Italy, being as we had our honeymoon there and that we both share a passion for Italy and all it has to offer. Our spoken Italian is very limited but not as much as our written. Although I have found some websites I'm not sure how we go about it as they are either in Italian or US based companies. Although they are in Tuscany, we do both like San Gim and Siena, so somewhere like that would be fantastic, transport would not be a problem as the accomodation we have booked the owner has a minibus and will drive us to where we need to go. I have also informed them of our quest to renew our vows, so hopefully somewhere we will get some suggestions.

Hmmmm... it is just a guess but I imagine a wedding consultant/planner would be the person to contact for a renewal of vows (since the ceremonies are so similar and all). Have you gone through all the threads from brides who have planned weddings in Italy? You might get contact info. there

Hi,

I considered doing the same thing, but it became too complicated, so we decided against it.

Statia and her husband renewed their vows on a gondola in Venice. Here's her trip report:

thanks for our help.
One of my sisters work collegues is Italian he has been translating some emails for me to the family who own the accomodation where we are staying next year. It'll probably be a good idea to ask him to translate another one for me and see if they know of anywhere in the area. He did send me a few links himself but I cant really get any info of them.

For the Tuscany area, I can highly recommend www.sogniitaliani.com for consultation.

HI,
We are getting married in Rome (at the Vatican) in Oct (we live in Boston area). At first, we didn't think we would need a wedding planner for our event (as it's going to be just family - 12 of us), but then we were nervous about it and decided to check around. We found Brenda Babcock (email : [email protected]), and I can say that we are confident that we're in good hands now. Brenda is very helpful & responsive. If you want, you could just send her email and she if she could help you with your plans.
Best of luck with everything.

Hi, Italyforme, it would be easy to hire a wedding planner to make the necessary arrangements for you.

The one we used when we got married in Pienza in May this year was Annie from Tuscan Tour. Her website is www.tuscantour.com and her email is [email protected].

You can browse the website of Italyweddings (www.italyweddings.com) for a lot of ideas.

Best wishes.

There are non-RC English chaplaincies in Florence whose clergy may be happy to arrange a renewal ceremony.
* St Mark's Anglican Church (Church of England) Fr Lawrence [email protected]
* St James Epicopal Church
Fr Featherstone and they have wedding/renewal info on their website at http://www.dinonet.it/stjames/wedding.html

Hiya!

I was married in Siena last May - we used Italyweddings (www.italyweddings.com) to arrange it and they were fantastic! They've also coordinated renewal ceremonies, so I'm sure they could help you out.

If you have any questions at all - or just feel like chatting about Siena/Tuscany/Italy, drop me line!! I'd love to help out in any way that I can. :)

Cheers,
Crissy
