Renaissance Brussels Experience
Has anyone ever stayed at the Renaissance Brussels? I just received this hotel with Priceline. I know that it is in the upper town, near Parliament and Leopold Park, and is a little ways from the major sights.
Can you tell me what the hotel and the rooms are like? Do you have any tips for getting to and from the central part of town? Thank you for your help. Laurie |
If this is the Renaissance that is part of the Marriott group (and I think it is) you can get some further info to include an area map by going to this site: http://www.marriott.com/dpp/Property...rshaCode=BRUBR
If that doesn't work just go to Marriott.com and search for the Renaissance in Brussels |
Thanks for your reply, JonJon. I was hoping to hear from someone who has personal experience with this hotel. Anyone? Thank you! Laurie

Topping this for you

I've stayed at both the Rennaissance in Brussels and the Marriott. Both are lovely. The Marriott is better located (though we had some street noise, I'm not sure if this is common). The Renaissance is lovely and quiet. We took taxis from Grand Place to the Renaissance - and sometimes walked. The rates in Brussels are typically pretty cheap on weekends (I was in a lovely room in the Marriott for 100 Euro per night (double) no breakfast. And both hotels work with local tour agencies. We did a 1/2 day tour and were picked up at the Renaissance. The only problem we had was our concierge recommended a restaurant that was a real tourist rip off (dinner for 5 something like 500$ - and mediocre). Also, near both hotels is a wonderful bakery (a small chain) that serves all types of decadent chocolate/hazelnut spreads with crispy french bread. It was wonderful!

Thanks for topping, JonJon.
Julie,Thank you for your reply! We will be staying at the Renaissance Brussels since this is the hotel we received with priceline. Thanks for the information about the bakery nearby. We will look for it. Do you know if there are any grocery stores nearby where we could pick up a few things like soft drinks and local beer? Do you know if there is any public transportation such as bus or tram stops near this hotel? Thank you so much for your help! Laurie |
I don't remember the bus or tram - but this hotel is a block or so from a square, and I'd guess there is both a small grocery store and a bus at this square (also near the bakery). I seem to remember buses in that area.

Thank you for the information, Julie. I am happy to know that there are some shops nearby. Laurie
