Removing Venice from itinerary then where?

After searching hours on trying to include Venice in our itinerary I have decided to delete it. Now we now have 3 days, where can we go that is closer? We plan to fly to Paris 5 days, Sorrento 3 days, Rome 5 days. We have three days between Paris and Sorrento we were planning to go to Venice, but with the long train ride from Venice to Naples and the difficulty finding a hotel within our budget, we just don't seem to be able to make it work ( I am VERY dissappointed). Any suggestions to ease the pain of missing Venice? Note: We are two women traveling together and we will be traveling via train in Italy.

Fly volareweb.com Paris-Venice, and then Venice to Naples. Train from Campania back To Rome. Fly home.

Best wishes,

Have you allowed enough time in Sorrento to go to Pompeii and Herculaneum? If not, add at least a day to your time in Sorrento and include those sites. I am not sure how the trains would connect, but there are other Amalfi towns, such as Positano, which are well worth a day's visit. Have a wonderful time. PJK

YOU COULD LOOK UP MIRA, ITS A TOWN NEAR VENICE ON THE MAINLAND AND FROM THERE YOU CAN TAKE A VAPORETTO INTO VENICE. IT WON'T BE AS EXPENSIVE AS VENICE.

Good morning, Clea look into www.veniceinfo.it for information on hotels in Venice, am sure you can find one within your means, especially if the two of you are splitting one double room. Don't miss getting to Venice and spending all your time there
in the thre days you have, granted it is a seven hour + trip but really worth the time. The alternate is to fly from Naples to Venice, however this would be expensive....There is no
substitute for Venice. Richard of LaGrange Park, Il..
