Relaxing after Barcelona

After spending 4 days in Barcelona we are looking to spend 3 days in relaxing with our 3 teenage daughters. I am looking for a suggestion as where to go from Barcelona. Quiet, not nude, charming and warm. We must stay somewhat close to Barcelona however as we are flying home from there. Also, looking for a good family hotel in Barcelona where the action is.

I am not sure why you would feel the need to relax after just four days in Barcelona, but you might consider going to the Costa Brava. This of course depends on the time of your visit. There is a nice Parador in Aiguablava which might suit you.
I am not sure about hotels for you in Barcelona as it seems you have 5 people? which probably requires 2 rooms. It really depends on your budget. Consider asking Maribel, a former poster here who now has her own web site and is the expert on all things Spain.

You may want to consider the resort of Sitges. You can reach Sitges by train. It's about 30-40 miles (sorry, 50-60 km) south of Barcelona. The beach is wonderful - sandy, clean and large. A bit of caution, however, just so that you're not surprised. It appeared to my wife and I that the beach is informally broken up into a Lesbian section, a gay male section, and a family section. The family section is the northern most, closest to the church. You will see, as with most European beaches, topless women.

have you thought of a train across the border( first town,) to Collioure, France?

great, calm village. Much more scenic than Sitges IMHO if you are willing to travel a bit.

How about Aigua Blava (hotel www.aiguablava.com) or tiny Sa Tuna http://www.pyreneesguide.com/subs.as...352&cID=63, near Begur.Begur has a great selection of restaurants and is 10 mins drive to wonderful beaches Absolutely heavenly. Inland a little is the fabulous Castell Emporda hotel.www.castelldemporda.com. we were in Begur for two weeks last year and loved every minute. A good base to explore the surrounding area. We are going back this year. we have a reservation at el bulli in early june!!
best wishes
