Red Ticket on Austrian Airlines

Last night I went online to book tickets for upcoming Paris/Vienna/Paris......I have never flown this airline and I am not familiar with Red Ticket, I know that there are airlines that offer internet prices and wonder if this is the case. The questions is: Does this make your seat assignment less desirable? Have any of you flown this airline, just a bit nervous for the winter, I am a desert rat and don't fly to winter spots that often. Thanks

The red ticket is simply a discounted fare- used to compete with the many low cost carriers.

Certain restrictions naturally apply. Usuallyx they can have changes but with a steep fee.
It makes no difference regarding seat assignments etc.
Austrian Air is the national carrier. It has a good standard.
With recent airline troubles , competition, it was acquired by Lufthansa operating on its own as a subsidiary of the parent . This arrangement much like the one Lufthansa has with Swissair.
I fly with them often and have no fears. As with most carriers see less in the meal offered -
no reason to be normal.

Also check the discount carrier Fly Niki.
They fly this route and depending on flight dates usually good prices.
This is a good carrier - new airbus aircraft . founded by the former Formula 1 driver Niki Lauda who is still the majority owner.
He with a commercial pilot license.
They now are a partner with Air Berlin.
