Amsterdam Mid-Week, Where else to go?
We are traveling to Amsterdam in early November, combining a business trip and vacation. We must be in Amsterdam Tuesday and Wednesday of that week. We wanted to fly into London, travel to Amsterdam, then leave from Paris. We can travel Friday or Sat. to the following Sat. It seems as though air fare costs might restrict us to a round-trip flight from a single location. We're not sure which city to choose - any suggestions? Or would it be better to spend the whole week in the low countries? Any help would be appreciated.

An open jaw ticket should not be much more expensive than a round trip. But for one week, I think those 3 cities are way too much. It would not be hard to spend a week in Amsterdam, but please, if you want to include more, choose London OR Paris.

LeeAnne - i think that suec is right.
consider this:
Friday - leave USA [i assume]
Sat am arrive London. recover from jetlag - hopefully
Sunday - London
Monday - fly to Amsterdam. Settle in.
Tuesday - Amsterdam
Wednesday - amsterdam
Thursday - train to Paris. settle in
friday - Paris
Sat - fly home.
honestly, it's a lot of travelling for just one whole day in each of london and Paris. if your amsterdam section could be at the beginning or the end of the trip that'd be better, but if it has to be in the middle, it makes seeing anywhere else rather difficult.
IMO I'd stick to Holland - perhaps spend the first few days in the south or east of Holland, then move to Amsterdam for the end of the trip. the rail system makes it easy to get around and you won't run out of things to do.

I'd stay in Holland and Belgium, there are very good train systems there (trains are very fast/clean/omni-present in lots of bits of Europe and cheap). Go to Delft, Brugges, Antwerp, the hague and of course Amsterdam, Harlaam etc
