We will be traveling to Milan for a week in August and would like any ideas about good restaurants there.

Good afternoon, SG
Our dining in Milano has been very
limited, in three times we returned
to the same ristorante, found it very
good to our liking
It is the DA BRUNO, Via Gonzagna, 6.
it is about a half block south of the
Duomo out the right end of the Pza Diaz...Richard of La Grange Park, Il...

We had an excellent meal in La Torre di Pisa- I forget the address nut it is not far from the Pinoteca di Brera (which I would also recommend you visit)

Baguta - a wonderful artsy locals place right behind via montenapolene. An antipasto do it yourself bar with calamari, octopus etc. you can make a meal of it.

Suggest you look into Trattoria Milanese. Old-style Milan cuisine and a bit of culinary history, food in some form having been served there for over 300 years. Fantastic risotto and osso buco!

If you have the time, Sheryl, go for a late afternoon stroll in the very lively Navigli district (Porta Genova metro station). Dozens of shops, bars and restaurants. Not a particular one to indicate. Just sit down where you feel like in the spurr of the moment.

Once I'm at it, Sheila's La Torre di Pisa is located on Via Fiori Chiari (walking on Via Brera in the north direction, leave Palazzo Brera to your right and turn left at the corner). This should be closed all Sunday and Saturday for lunch. Mark's Milanese is on Via Santa Marta 11, and should be closed on Tuesdays and August (From the Duomo, walk southwest on Via Torino, taking a right on Via S. Maurilio; after two blocks you get to Via Santa Marta; the restaurant should be to your right).

Paulo

On the same Via Fiori Chiari that Paulo mentions, we ate at Dell Ongolo. Been there twice, once in downstairs dining room, once upstairs - both were charming. Pastas were great both times - the vongole was overflowing with clams. Wonderful rustic strawberry tart for dessert.
