Recommendations for phone card for use between Europe and Australia

Has anyone any experience with using a global phone card called IsCard for calls from Europe to Australia? In the past we have always taken the local Telstra Phoneaway card away with us but its rates are very high. Searching the net we found the IsCard which has very advantageous rates and seems to be able to be used within Europe and also from Europe to Australia.

There is also another card which seems to do the same job called 'Ambassador International Phone Card'.

We would appreciate any info in this regard.

PS - Forgot to say that we would nearly always be using pay phones.

Hi Jofrommelbourne.

I am also from Melbourne. Was in Italy and Paris May/June and discovered the Europa card in Italy. I believe I had 200 mins for 10euro.

This card was available from local tobacconists everywhere. I should have used it more often!! My mobile phone on Optus roaming was 25 pages long with incoming and outgoing sms messages!!

I am unsure whether the Europa card is also available in France, but you dont state which country you will be in.

Hi Claude,
We are going to be travelling in Denmark, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy and Croatia. Big trip! Thanks for the advice about the Europa card.

Did you use it in countries other than Italy?

I will search the net and see what I can find out about it.

Thanks again - sounds like you had a killer mobile bill.

Take your mobile with you and buy a "www.riiing.de" SIM card on ebay. Any aussi mobile phone will work.
