Recommendations for Paris lodging

Anyone have a recommendations for inexpensive but still nice hotels/vrbo/airbnb for 6 people (2 couples + 2 singles) in Paris close to a subway line? Don't need fancy but would like comfortable beds, safe, and clean. We aren't picky about location as long as we can hop on the train but the closer in the better. Thanks for any recommendations! We just need it for 2 nights in June.

Welcome to Fodors -- afraid no one can give you useful recommendations without an actual budget. A real number (Preferably in , but $ would be an OK start). 'Inexpensive' could mean anything depending on one's pay grade . . .

(there are hundreds of hotels near Metro stops)

Would love to spend up to Euro$ 250 a night per hotel room so $750 a night if its an airbnb or vrbo. We don't plan on spending much time in the hotel/lodging.

Unless you are coming during the Olympics, that is a very easy rate to find except in the central tourist ghetto.

Hotel Delambre. Montparnasse is historically a Breton neighborhood. Hence the profusion of adorable creperies that line r. Montparnasse around the corner. Nearby Gare de Montparnasse goes to Brittany and this is where the railway workers and others from Brittany concentrated. Several nearby Metro stations in the neighborhood that service most places you will want to go.

The problem with making particular suggestions is finding 3 rooms available at this point. This is why the booking sites are your best bet for gathering info and you can do a search by map.

We liked Hotel le Clement in the 6th, that would fit this budget, but I tried out a few dates in June and it looks sold out.
3 rooms at this point will be challenging. I think to go on Booking.com, is your best bet, you can see the map of the possibilities, actual photos and more importantly, the reviews. But just use that for reference and book directly with the hotel. And choose the cancellable rates, travel has gotten to be trickier lately. Be careful with the room sizes, they are very small in Paris. We don't need a big room, but if you can't put your suitcases anywhere or maneuver within the room, it gets annoying. Enjoy!
