Recommendation Needed-Restaurant in Paris with a Great View

My country-bumpkin in-laws are going to Paris and want to be sure to have dinner in a restaurant with a great view of the city. OTHER THAN La Tour d'Argent (waaaay too expensive for them) does anyone know of a place?

Thanks!

The Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower?
A bateau mouche dinner cruise?

"Georges", sixth floor of the Pompidou Center (I think closed on Tuesdays).
One of my favs. Not cheap, but not expensive like "Tour d'Argent" and alike. Awesome view.

Hello Heather,

Have them try "Le Toupary" on the fifth floor of the department store "La Samaritaine". Make sure they book a table by the window. It looks over the Seine, and you have a nice view of the Eiffel Tower and the beautiful dome at "les Invalids".

The food is average, but the view is great.

RJS

Georges is wonderful but probably way too expensive for your in-laws. I have always wanted to go to the Toupary Restaurant on the Tope of Samaritaine but haven't made it yet so don't know about the prices.

Anyone been there?

We had lunch in the Toupary May '01 and found it to be quite good for the price - $30 for two - including tax and tip [without wine, I think]. Reserve a view table, as it was pretty crowded at lunch on a weekday.
