Recomend resturant for dinner in Rome

My wife & I will be touring Italy for 2 weeks with a group starting in about a week.
Our last evening(July 17) we will be on our
own for dinner. Since its our last meal in
Italy, we hope to make it a special one. Can
anyone reccomend a nice place for us to have
dinner in Rome? Thanks, Dave

Good evening, Dave This ristorante is
NOT a romantic place, it is frequented
by both locals and tourists, reservation are a must as is fills up
quite quickly from 0730PM.
It is the ristorant AMBASCIATA D'ABRUZZO, via Pietro Tacchini,26, it
is $$$ and is located in the Paroli
district in north Rome. To get there merely have the concierge at your hotel
get you a taxi for the return the waiter will call one when requested.
On comment overhead here was "do not
look at the manu, eat what ever is placed table" We have used this ristorante a number of times in the
last 20 years and enjoy it very much.
If you do not want to take a taxi, go to the Ristorante NINO, via Borgognona,11,
$$$$, near the Spanish Steps, very good
Roman dishes. resvn a must....
Richard of LaGrange Park, Il..
Hi Dave,

Please take my recommendation and book a table at the rooftop terrace restaurant at the Hotel Eden on Via Ludovisi.
Their chef used to be the chef for Prince Charles and Princess Dianna.

Not only is the food fantastic but the views (are free!) and absolutely wonderful.

What a wonderful way to finish what I know will be a wonderful trip in Italy.

While you are here if you are interested please contact me as I am a tour guide and my company covers all the main sights as well as private tours.

Our web site is "under construction" so let me know if you would like more info.

Dave, let me know what you thought of my recommendation if you decide to go!
Email me at
[email protected]

Enjoy yourselves and bella Roma.

My best recommendation is Orso 80 which is north of the Piazza Navona, however it isn't exactly knock your socks off romantic. Check the Rants n' Rave section because there are some good recs there!

Hi Dave,
My S.O. has extensively researched this, so I'm happy to pass on this info to you.

The recommendation that LHR gave you is good for food + a view. Same goes for La Pergola at the top of the Cavalieri Hilton at 101 via Cadlolo.

For what seems to me to be the most romantic of the bunch, Il Bacaro at 27 via delgi Spagnoli provides an intimate candlelit atmosphere as well as gourmet dining.

"Also rans" include Il Convivio (translates as "the banquet") at 44 via dell'Orso and La Rosetta at 9 via della Rosetta.

I would advise making reservations for whichever restaurant you select. I know you wouldn't want to be disappointed or turned away on a lovely, special evening in Rome.
Buon Viaggio,
BC
