Recharging ipod in Ireland
 

I want to take my iPod Photo on my trip to Ireland and would like to be able to recharge the battery while I'm there. Can anyone tell me how to do that? Do I need any special adaptors? Thanks for your help.

You just need a plug adaptor to connect the flat US plugs into an Irish outlet. The charger itself works on 100-240V so no voltage converter is needed.

Plug adaptors are available definitely at the airport or any travel store. Some electronics stores (like Frys) carry them as well.

ipod_robbie is right. I was told the same thing at the Apple store. The iPod recharger itself is fine to use with just a plug adapter internationally.

Thanks so much for your replies. I spent an hour or so looking around the internet for an answer without much luck, so I really appreciate your taking the time to answer. I'll just take my plug adaptor. Right now I'm listening to The Princes of Ireland, getting ready for my trip in June.

Apple has an international adapter kit that works with the white square power supply that comes with iPods and iBooks. You pull out the US plug and then put the UK or whatever one in its place.

Totally unnecessary, as any regular adapter will work; but you can't say it's not cool.

If you go to <b>mobalrental.com</b>, you can buy a plug adapter kit (UK, EU, and some bizarre thing with two diagonal pins) for $10 postpaid.

Oh, and they throw in a Nokia 5110, two batteries, charger, and a SIM.

Thanks, Robespierre. I went to that website and ordered a free phone, with adaptor. I'd been debating about needing a cell phone while in Ireland, just for emergencies, so this will fit the bill. Pretty pricey by the minute for calls, but I don't really intend to use it, just want to have it along &quot;just in case.&quot; Thanks for the info.
