I hadn't heard the expression before reading this thread.
For some reason I associated it with U2. But it is Bloody Sunday not Black Friday.

Black Friday was also a term from 1987 when the stock market crashed in the UK, Paris, but people forget.

We had Black Friday here in rural SW France, too, but nobody paid much attention to it at all.
