Hey, I'm close to 40 (very close....) and I use random the "slang" way and never thought of it as slang. So I guess maybe it's gone way beyond cool teen usage at this point!

Good grief, I had no idea that I was so completely out of it. It never occurred to me that random had a meaning other than the one I was aware and is in standard dictionaries. That's really random.

I've used a folding travel fan that can run on batteries or you can get an AC adapter plus plug adapters for it.

I don't understand why you don't just wait and buy an inexpensive fan once you get to Ireland. That certainly seems easiest.
