Really *quiet* hotel in Amsterdam

Can anyone recommend a nice (***+) hotel in Amsterdam that is quiet and cozy? Hopefully around the museum district.
Thanks for any advice!

Quiet as in not on a noisy street? Or quiet as is small and not crowded? Or both?

Ask for a room in the rear, up high, overlloking the rooftops,on the non-canal side at Hotel Ambassade. Not in museum districtbut near Nine Streets.

We stayed here: http://www.boogaardsbnb.com/ and found it very quiet.

I second the motion for Ambassade. Lovely little hotel; a little old-fashioned, but in a charming way, imo. Excellent location, comfortable room, good bathroom, pleasant breakfast and service.

We loved the Piet Hein.

Quiet as in not noisy, however that is achieved!
Thanks for these suggestions, all.
