Real Madrid Soccer Tickets
 

Looks like we've decided on a week in Madrid next Spring, and we'll be there arriving on Saturday April 7th. One thing we want to do is see a Real Madrid Soccer game and it looks like there will be one on Sunday (Easter) April 8th. Where/how is the best way to get tickets? Is it possible to buy in advance at the stadium, or do we order online in advance? What is the best website?

Google their own website - I bought direct from Real Madrid and its prices are way better than what you'll get from online agents.

You can buy at the stadium but if it's a big rivalry match you'll be out of luck.

I was in Madrid in January 2010. After enjoying the "Real Madrid Experience" tour in the afternoon, I attended a Sunday night home game against Malaga. I just bought tickets at the box office before game time. I did have to dodge literally dozens of people who were trying to sell their tickets to the game. Some were standing only a few feet away from the ticket window. They were probably season ticket holders. Bear in mind that the actual date and time of the match may not be confirmed until a couple of weeks before the game. Looks like that home game is against Valencia, which is a good team so you might wish to secure tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Enjoy the game! Best part is hearing Placido Domingo belt out "Nessun Dorma" at full volume before the match!

who are the playing - if a team from Spain, especially hated rivals Barcelona the availability of tickets at affordable prices goes way up.

We were in Madrid last week and were going to go to the game on Sunday. However, they don't actually set the games until about 7-10 days in advance, and they ended up moving it to Saturday night so we could not go. From what I understand, most games are moved to Saturday. We were in Barcelona a few days later, and were leaving on Sunday, and there was a game set for Sunday. It also got moved to Saturday and so we were able to go.
There are places on line to get tickets as the other posters have said. Tickets are not actually released until shortly before the game. We contacted our hotel concierge and he helped us with the tickets, I wanted to make sure we could get them, so you could try that as well. From the Real Madrid web site, they are not actually sold until a couple of weeks before the game, and most tickets go to club members. If it is not a huge game, you won't have a problem getting tickets.

psgmartino--We got what they call category 2 tickets. They were 100 euro each and were very good. the prices are regulated by the team, so that is the price they charge and that's what we paid, even though we just had the hotel concierge get them for us. for some of the bigger games, where demand is much greater, I'm sure prices are higher in the secondary market. I think the lowest prices were something like 60 or 65, then the next level was 70 or 75. One category higher than ours I believe was 140 euro

If you will have a concierge, I would ask them to help. And just FYI, when we went to a match last year, my husband bought our tix through a broker and were bummed to see upon delivery that our four seats weren't all together - they were close by but not even in the same section. Our concierge said that often happened w/ the ticket brokers, so you have to be careful if you have more than 2 people. We still had a great time at the game, though. Really fun.

"BigRuss" Could you tell me how you bought your Real Madrid ticket? I went online and thought I bought the ticket on the Real Madrid website as well but I did not receive any confirmation that I bought the ticket. I put in all my credit number and then the response came on in Spainish stating that. I went to Google Translate and it said "In the following cases you will need the card with which you have bought the tickets. Collect them at the ServiCaixa terminals of "la Caixa" you will have them available once the purchase has been made. We recommend that you collect your ticket in advance."

Does this mean that I have purchased the ticket? I checked my with my credit card company to see if the transaction has gone through and it did not go through. If it hasn't gone through does this mean that I have not purchase the tickets yet or that it will not go through until I printed the tickets?

Please reply. I am really confuse and wants to know whether I have purchased the tickets or not as I am flying out to Madrid in a few days.

there should be a reference number that you can use at a ticket kiosk and at the bank with the same name across Spain. Are you sure you do not have a reference number (pin) that you can punch in when you get there? It should be obvious on the ticket info you jut received.

It looks to me that perhaps you do not actually PAY for the tickets until you go to one of the kiosks at this bank. I have bought ballet tickets this way, and once someone who was also at the kiosk implied that she could actually cancel one of the tickets as she hadn't paid for them yet.. ??

maybe best to send them an email. If you have NO reference number then perhaps this transaction has not gone through.

If you can't figure it out I will be happy to call "LA Caixa" for you and find out if you get no response in due time.

p.s. copy this link and put in your reference number. these are tickets pending to be collected. there is an expiration date to fill in also remember MES is month and Año is YEAR. good luck. if the number works you are good to go.

or go to la caixa website and realmadrid tickets and in the upper right hand corner it says "consult tickets pending". The website I just realized is also in English so you should have no problem.

Yes, I picked the tickets up at the ServiCaixa machine just outside the Real Madrid club shop at the stadium. Print out whatever you received from the website.

To get to the club shop, take the Metro to the Santiago Bernabeu stop (Line 1, I think) and follow the signs to the stadium. When you exit, you'll see the stadium. Take a right and follow the outside of the stadium keeping it on your left. You'll go about 35-40% around and then reach near gate 52 or 54 or so, which is where the club shop is. If you have any problem, you can talk to the folks at the club shop (they all speak some English) or the ticket offices.

BTW, to PSG: I hope you didn't use HKTO's link - it's a tout service, not the Real Madrid website, and the prices are far higher than what you should find from the club directly.

Thank you for your reply lincasanova. Where do you get the LA Caixa phone number? I went onto their website and there is no contact us button for inquiry. I definitely did not receive a reference number. I got to the end showing the total cost of the tickets then when I click next "the message popped up" in Spainish.

My credit card still does not indicate any charge in the amount of the tickets at all.

I want to contact them so that I could get them to check on their system to see if my purchase went through. If you have LA Caixa's phone number could you post it in your reply to me?

actually.. it's not lacaixa directly but servicaixa that deals with the ticketing for events and shows.
